World Cup 2022 – Outline
      I.         Introduction
·      Hook: Statistic on viewing numbers on the last world cup and its popularity.
·      Thesis: The 2022 World Cup that is to be hosted by Qatar should not be played in the summer due to the extreme temperatures that Qatar face in the summer months. These temperatures are unsafe for players, spectators or tourists, and could affect the amount of people that come to support the event.
·      Background: Describe why there is a conflict with the world cup time in Qatar
    II.         Players safety
·      Too hot for players to play a 90 minute game in the summer heat
·      Source – BBC shows average temperatures in the summer in Qatar, Source – ISMJ speaks about athletic performance in temperatures lower than the average summer in Qatar
·      Counterargument- there will be stadium cooling technology
§  Players train during the week in places other than the world cup stadiums that may not have the cooling technology
  III.         Fans
·      Fans would have to deal with the heat as well as the players, and a large portion of the world cup is the money made from the tourism
·      Source- LEAP says tourists during northern Europe experienced thermo-psychological discomfort and led to shifts in tourist flows, Source- islandnet.com shows temperatures during heat wave, some of which are level or below the average in a Qatar summer
·      Source- Heinonline journal states FIFA itself said temperatures could be risk to players, officials, and spectators
   IV.         Opposing views
·      World cup is a tradition to be in the summer
·      It will disrupt domestic European leagues schedules
·      It wont allow for players in European leagues to have a break
·      Source – Eurosport article with quotes from professional players and managers discussing why it disrupts their schedules
     V.         Solution
·      Talk about the magnitude of the world cup
·      European leagues would have 7 years to come up with a new schedule for just one year to accommodate the worlds most popular sporting event
·      It is only 1 year, everything will return to normal afterwards
·      Source – eurosport article with reasons why the world cup could work still if not in the summer
   VI.         Conclusion
·      Summarize arguments
·      Give examples of people in the field that have experience and are against it being held in the summer
·      Another fact about the popularity of the world cup
