The Art of Quoting

“Eggs may be contaminated, either because there is oil in the sand high up on the beach at the nesting site, or because the adult turtles are oiled as they make their way across the oiled beach to the nesting site. Oiling of eggs may inhibit their development.” (www.conserveturtles.org n.d.)

This was one quote I used for a paper about sea turtles. To integrate this quote, I began writing about oil effecting sea turtles to lead into this. I explained it by saying what the oil can do to the sea turtle eggs. I used this quote because it went with the topic I was using in the paragraph about oil.

“The most serious threat caused by increased human presence on the beach is the disturbance to nesting females.” (www.conserveturtles.org n.d.)

To integrate this quote I began to bring up the problem of humans affecting see turtles. I explained this quote by saying how this affects the turtles and why it is a problem. It relates to my text because it states one serious issue that humans do to harm sea turtles
