Spoke about how to organize the information and where I will fit in each source and interview that I am supposed to use. Also discussed the 4 sources I will use and what type of source each one was, academic or non-academic. Need to get more information from my second interview.
Four main points:
1. need more scholarly sources
2. how to organize my paper
3. get more detailed interview answers
4. where to find better sources for my paper

Informational Report First Interview
I interviewed the assistant vice
president of deposit operations at a bank for my first interview. The main
things she has to write are levies, garnishments, and denied deposit slips. The
frequency depends on when these things are needed, it could be daily, or
biweekly. Levies and garnishments are written to customers who owe money to the
state but wont pay, so she has to write to them to inform them their assets are
frozen and being paid to the state. She writes denied deposit slips when a
check that a customer tried to deposit bounced. Informal writing she does is
email to coworkers, or notes taken during meetings. One example she gave me was
taking notes at a meeting about a new banking app where checks could be deposited
with a picture, and she wrote down notes on the directions and how to use the
app.
Informational Report Sources
One of the sources I am going to
use is an article from the New York Times that an economics professor from the
University of Michigan. This is an academic source, written for a newspaper to
inform anyone interested in the rise of the economy recently. This article
presents date about the economy and whom the rise has really contributed to. He
states that it is mostly limited to the top 1 percent. Another source I am
using is also an article from the New York Times that is written from a
economist that works for the New York Times. This is also an academic source
informing reader of McDonalds and the business’s sales dip, and the appointment
of a new chief executive.

The Art of Quoting
“Eggs may be
contaminated, either because there is oil in the sand high up on the beach at
the nesting site, or because the adult turtles are oiled as they make their way
across the oiled beach to the nesting site. Oiling of eggs may inhibit their
development.” (www.conserveturtles.org
n.d.)
This was one quote I used for a
paper about sea turtles. To integrate this quote, I began writing about oil
effecting sea turtles to lead into this. I explained it by saying what the oil
can do to the sea turtle eggs. I used this quote because it went with the topic
I was using in the paragraph about oil.
“The most serious threat caused by increased human presence
on the beach is the disturbance to nesting females.” (www.conserveturtles.org n.d.)
To integrate this quote I began to
bring up the problem of humans affecting see turtles. I explained this quote by
saying how this affects the turtles and why it is a problem. It relates to my
text because it states one serious issue that humans do to harm sea turtles

Information Report source #1
The first source
that I am using is a non-academic source from the University of Wisconsin
informing readers how to write a business letter. It is an instructional piece,
but it is also formatted like a letter. This piece is a type of informational report
because it is informing readers on writing a business letter.
This piece will
help me on my paper because it explains one of the most important writing
pieces that professionals have to do in a business career. It will help me
explain to readers what it is and how it needs to be done. Since this is one of
the most important writings a businessman has to do I feel it should be a big
part of my informational report.
